Ian the idiot’s latest release, ‘James Dean’ is organic, dreamy and laid back in all the right places.

Los Angeles born-and-raised, Ian the idiot is the culmination of years on the city's indie circuit as well as writing and recording DIY. The track is as cool as its namesake, following an effortless flow that has as much dreamy guitar laden melody reminiscent of the ‘Good Nature’ album by Turnover as it has the organic feel and harmonies of The Beach Boys. In his own words, Ian the idiot is trying to make music that makes people feel good, both about themselves and about the world for which I believe he is achieving perfectly. With this release taking on a more summery dream pop style, it is a departure from previous releases which appeared to be exploring the right sound for the artist which I think ‘James Dean’ is certainly the culmination.

Full of charm and melody, Ian the idiot truly captures blue skies and unbridled joy. ‘James Dean’ is the perfect soundbite to wet our palettes for summer.
