Caroline Romano’s latest track ‘Panic Attack’ is a confessional masterpiece of modern pop.

Nashville-based self-proclaimed “loudest sort of introvert” Caroline Romano brims with immersive storytelling and emotive sensibility. Although she may have only just entered her 20s, Romano can already boast some serious streaming numbers and the backing of industry tastemakers such as Hollywood Life, Just Jared and American Songwriter. Her upcoming debut LP Oddities and Prodigies promises to further solidify her as an introspective and passionate songwriter; one that isn’t afraid to bare herself to her audience with a stark frankness and comforting relatability.

Capturing the isolation and intensity of a panic attack, Romano’s track of the same name transports us directly into the chasm of her mind. A simple arrangement led by a guitar melody guides us into the main body of the song, where a poignant violin and expansive percussive elements create a tangible atmosphere of expectation. Through it all, Romano’s voice remains at the forefront, only retreating for a moment to allow for our own reflection, before concluding the song with part wishful and part determined proclamation; “I think I’m going to be ok.”

Speaking with straightforward eloquence and emotion, ‘Panic Attack’ embodies the vulnerability of a personal experience that is sure to resonate with many a listener.
