Artist Alert: VÕS

On our radar, this week is London-based alt-pop duo VŌS. We’re getting mega sultry sounds from these guys, who cite SZA and Mura Masa among their influences. If lucid melodies and pop-influenced electronica is your vibe, you’ll want to keep an eye out for these two.

With an EP yet to be released VŌS have already racked up a seriously impressive CV since their beginnings in 2016. They’ve had their single ‘Tide’ played on BBC Introducing London, had over 30k listens on their track ‘Patience’, and recorded at the famous Abbey Road studio. It’s not just original material that the duo have been putting their efforts into, they’ve also released some killer covers on their social media channels. These include an otherworldly performance of Amerie’s classic banger, ‘One Thing’, and Drake’s ‘Passion Fruit’, which we honestly might be digging even more than the original, soz Drake.

The duo recently dropped new single ‘Serious’ a 3-minute synth-y, bass-heavy, R&B dream. It’s a playful and honest account of our tinder generation, that candidly captures the feeling of being in that liminal space between relationship and single with someone you like. As Dawn intended, it creates a feeling of the fleeting and keeps it on repeat, in a track that you’ll want to keep coming back to. With more music promised in the new year, we’re looking forward to watching the rise of VŌS.
