Artist Alert: Drusila

Can you tell us who you are, where your from, and a little bit about the music you make?

Hey we are Drusila an indie/electronic dark pop duo from the south coast of England, Portsmouth to be more precise.

Why did you decide to start making music?

We both met studying music at college. Back then we didn’t share the same influences but about two years on from graduation we met up and it worked.

Who are your biggest influences?

We now share influences such as Bicep, The Horrors, ALT J, George Fitzgerald, Four Tet, 80s Synthwave and many more.

What has been your biggest highlight of this year as an Artist?

I would say our biggest highlight of the year came in September when we played Camden Assembly which was by far the most amazing show we’ve had to date. Everything was just right, lights, sound, audience. The vibe was just perfect.

What do you think of your local music scene at the moment?

So we’ve been away from our hometown a lot recently but we always seem to find our way back now then. But in regards to the Portsmouth music scene, it seems to be growing stronger. No matter what is thrown at it in regards to closure of venues everyone always steps up and makes it work. It’s a family that we miss.

Have you got any exciting plans you can tell us about going on in 2019?

2019 is going to be a big one for us. We have festivals, new releases and tours planned. We can’t say too much at the moment but be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as we will be announcing exciting things on there through out the year.

Best cure for a hangover?

Definitely Gin. No tonic just gin. That’s if we don’t need to drive.

What new bands are you listening to at the moment?

At the moment we are loving Wild Front, Dutch Criminal Record, Arcade Hearts and Dirty Orange. Nothing better than listening to local unsigned artists.

Dream gig?

Our dream gig would have to be red rocks in Colorado US.

Describe your sound in three words?

Dreamy Synth Pop
