Isle of Wight based record label Chalkpit Records is set to open its doors in Leeds this October. The move will see the south coast label branch its development opportunities to artists within the city and surrounding areas. Offering a range of services including artist management, Live Promotion and Distribution.

The Northern Headquarters will be headed up by Glynn Parkinson who will develop the brand within the region. He said, ‘I can’t wait to bring Chalkpit Records up North this October, it’s a really exciting time for us as a label. Over the past few years we’ve worked really hard to grow the brand on the South Coast and I’m really excited to do the same in and around Leeds. It’s got a great music scene and its artists are really pushing the boat out in terms of original music. We’ve got so much planned especially going into 2019 so make sure you keep an eye out!’

Chalkpit Records has been working with emerging artists on the Isle of Wight for the last three years. The label has seen artists go on to achieve huge levels of early success with an Isle of Wight Festival main stage performance and a runner up award in a national emerging music prize, plus a 6 date UK tour with Nakamarra in 2017/18. Chalkpit Records intend to continue their successes as they expand and welcome new emerging talent from the North.

Silas Gregory, Founder of Chalkpit Records, said, ‘It’s great to be able to work with Glynn in taking the label to the next stages of development. Leeds is a fantastic hub for music and we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in the scene and start working with some seriously talented artists. The move will open a huge range of opportunities for both artist in the North and South of England, creating an incredible network to work between. 2019 is going to be a fantastic year.
