Another Sky set to sell out debut Isle of Wight show
Chalkpit Records Presents: Another Sky at Strings Bar & Venue, Isle of Wight - Sunday 24th February 2018
Chalkpit Records Promotions are back to present alt-indie phenomenon Another Sky at Strings Bar & Venue on February the 24th. The Isle of Wight date is announced as a new addition to the bands lengthy February 2019 tour, and acts as an exciting home show for guitarist Jack Gilbert who studied at the Island’s music college.
Another Sky have smashed through the noise this year, situating their haunting, androgynous sound as one currently unparalleled by any other rising band. They’ve played on Later with Jools Holland, recently signed a deal with Fiction Records and had over 30,000 views on their Najeeb Tarazi directed music video for ‘Chillers’.
Almost all the reviews on the up and coming band hail singer Catrin Vincent’s voice as being at the heart of the band’s sound. Undeniably, it creates a physicality and presence in their music that breaches the distance between their recorded and live performances. Yet, it is still the ability of the entire band to compliment Vincent’s voice that creates their uniquely mystifying sound.
There’s not many bands coming out with the same witty, ruminating lyrics and incessant melodies as Another Sky are right now, they’re a powerhouse to be reckoned with and not to be missed when they bring their live show to the Isle of Wight.
Chalkpit Record’s Silas Gregory said of the announcement: ‘I am thrilled to be able to secure Another Sky for an Isle of Wight Show on their 21 date tour of the UK in february next year. It’s great to see former island resident Jack Gilbert making a name for himself in the industry, Another Sky are a band destined for big things and we are glad that we are able to support that. It’s going to be a incredible show that your not going to want to miss.”
