“Saturated with mysticism and sincere spirituality, ‘Flesh to Flower’ is not so much music as a sonic prayer, transforming the rawness of grief into the magic of healing. ”

Heirloome’s ethereal track ‘Flesh to Flower’ is a haunting meditation on life and death.

The fay sound of Heirloome’s music is something that goes beyond terms like “avant-garde” or “chamber-pop”. Having performed at multiple avant-garde events in Sydney and collaborated with artists such as Nardean and Hymalayan Beach Ensemble, Heirloome are slated to release their debut EP, Cycles, in mid-November. Although these are only the tentative first steps for this Australian artist, their spellbinding track ‘Flesh to Flower’ is a bold statement of intent, captivating the listener with an almost supernatural power.

Opening with the magical sound of a distant harp, ‘Flesh to Flower’ ebbs and sways on a river of sound. Written after the death of the artist’s brother, it is both an exploration of personal grief and metaphysical meditation on the nature of life, transforming pain into hope with the power of music. Cinematic strings are intertwined with a kaleidoscopic array of “found sounds” which add great depth and texture to this outpouring of grief. Heirloome’s celestial voice is at the forefront of the track, vulnerable yet steadfast as they sing of love, loss and transcendence.

Saturated with mysticism and sincere spirituality, ‘Flesh to Flower’ is not so much music as a sonic prayer, transforming the rawness of grief into the magic of healing.
